Starting out, Lori learned the business the hard way. Working as a barista for a small, local coffee shop, Lori discovered the ins and outs of the coffee industry. While putting in long hours, Lori took orders, waited tables, and mastered the art of iced and hot coffee. “It was like a paid internship,” Lori recalled years later. “I worked for minimum wage, but paid attention and asked the owners questions. That real life experience paid off.”

Opening her own coffee house became a dream come true. With the help of her supportive and equally Italian husband, Mario, the pair began in a smaller location downtown. Years later, they remain at their current location near Griffiss Air Base. A master baker and classic Italian chef, everything Lori touches is gold.
